1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how Auripath uses cookies and similar technologies, including localStorage and sessionStorage, on auripath.com, app.auripath.com, and in our embedded player and lead forms. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, browser storage, pixels, and SDKs. These help websites and apps work, remember preferences, and, where permitted, measure usage and improve performance.

3. How We Use Cookies and Storage

We use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes below. Some are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Others are optional and are used only after consent where required.

3.1 Strictly necessary

These are required to provide the Service and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are typically set in response to actions you take such as logging in, security checks, storing your privacy preferences, or using core Service features.

Examples include:

  • authentication and session management
  • security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting
  • storing cookie or privacy choices
  • core embed functionality, including remembering that playback has already been unlocked on a particular browser for a particular document

3.2 Functional

These help remember choices you make and improve how the Service works. Examples include remembering player preferences or app settings.

3.3 Analytics

These help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar. Where required, we load these only after you consent.

3.4 Marketing

These help measure marketing performance and understand which campaigns drive signups. We use tools such as HubSpot tracking. Where required, we load these only after you consent.

3.5 Support chat

We use tawk.to to provide support chat on the marketing site and in the app. This may set cookies or similar identifiers to enable chat functionality and remember your session.

4. Embed and Player Storage

When Auripath is embedded on a customer’s website, the embed may store information in the end user’s browser using localStorage or sessionStorage to support core functionality such as:

  • remembering that playback has already been unlocked on that browser for a particular document
  • remembering limited player-related preferences where applicable

We aim to minimize what is stored. Where possible, we store a minimal document-specific unlock flag rather than the visitor’s email address. Browser storage can usually be cleared through the user’s browser settings.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can manage your cookie choices using our cookie banner or cookie preferences controls, where shown. You can also control cookies and browser storage through your browser settings, including deleting cookies, clearing localStorage or sessionStorage, and blocking future storage.

If you block or clear strictly necessary cookies or browser storage, parts of the Service or embedded player may not function correctly.

6. Third Party Cookies and Links

Some cookies and similar technologies are set by third parties we use, for example Google Analytics, HubSpot, Hotjar, and tawk.to. Their use of cookies is governed by their own policies. You can learn more via their documentation and privacy or cookie notices.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers provide Do Not Track settings or privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control. Where applicable, we may recognise certain browser-based privacy signals. Because there is no single consistent industry standard for all signals, our response may vary by region and context.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Last updated date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
